Hot Tub, Spa & Pool Sanitization Products We recommend premium products to balance and sanitize your Hot Tub. The quality of the chemicals used not only affect your skin but the plumbing of your hot tub. There are less expensive brands available at discount stores such as Wal-Mart, Target, Costco, etc. Review the ingredients listed. Premium chlorine and bromine from Spa Essentials and Omni are 99% active. Many of the brands found at the discount centers are 40 - 50% active. They are manufactured with silica sand as fillers and binders. Not only does this reduce the efficiency, requiring the use of more product, but can also leave residue and by-product which may be harmful to spa plumbing parts.
Watkins Manufacturing Corporation recommends only the following sanitizers:
* Sodium Dichloro-s-Triazinetrione (Sodium Dichlor or chlorine)
* One-step granular bromine
